but i dont really care
i came here to say
i finally got my laptop working
due to my ex girlfriend...
i was trying to burn fedora 7 linux onto a dvd with other peoples dvd burners, when she showed me ubuntu linux
which i did know about
i just didnt really look into it
so when i did, i found that it was meant to be easier to install than other linux distibutions and it fits on a cd, which i can burn easily
so in one night from 12-3am, i got it working
it was really easy to
ok, now i just sound like an advertisment
but the point is, now i have computer access whenever i want
and wireless internet soon
i need a card
im very proud of myself, though
before i installed the os, i tried several times with fedora and failed
well, succeeded once and then screwed it up again
but that was fedora 4, and it was outdated
before that, i took the computer apart and put a new lcd screen in it, after ripping another apart to get it
that involved some soldering too
and i also had to deal with putting a new cd drive in it (my mothers, borrowed) and a hard drive
i did all this with knowledge that i think i always knew
meaning
i didnt have anyone to help me, on forums or a class or anything
so yeah
im happy
